Applying theoretical, computational and experimental methods for the constitutive modeling of the plasticity, damage, failure, friction and wear of polymers, metals, ice, snow, foams, living cells and porous engineering materials; automotive engineering; vehicle-snow interaction; electronic packaging; network distributed and processor distributed computational methods; photomechanics; chemical-mechanical polishing.

What's New: new
  1. Professor Lee is the general chair of the Joint North America, Asia-Pacific ISTVS 2007 Conference and the Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society for Terramechanics in Fairbanks, Alaska, June 23-26, 2007.   Please visit ISTVS 2007 Web for more information.  
  2. Professor Lee organized and chaired a technical session at the SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) 2007 World Congress, Detroit MI. He and Dr. Qing Liu, CEM, co-authored two papers in tire modeling at the SAE Congress where one of the papers has been selected for SAE Transactions 2007.
  3. Professor Lee served on a review panel in December, 2006 for the CMMI Division of the National Science Foundation.
  4. Professor Lee presented a paper entitled 'Significance of Plate-Indentation Tests for Tire-Snow Interaction' in the 10th European Conference of the ISTVS, Budapest, Hungary, October 2006.
  5. Professor Lee was invited by the President of National Central University, Republic of China, to give a seminar entitled 'The Mechanics of Vehicle-Ground Interface' on August 28, 2006 and visited several departments and research institutes.
